• Credit checks: Processed by credit bureaus. We only receive a credit score and approval status - no detailed credit report is stored by us.
• Payment processing: Handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your full credit card number.
• Bank verification: Processed by Plaid. We only receive a yes/no confirmation of sufficient funds - no bank account details or balances are stored by us.

We use third-party services to verify your creditworthiness:

• Soft Credit Check: Does not affect your credit score. Used to determine rental rates and deposit amounts.
• Bank Verification (Plaid): We verify your bank balance to ensure you can afford the security deposit. We do not store your banking credentials.
• This information is used solely for rental approval and pricing. We do not share it with third parties except as required for verification purposes.

5. Data Security and Encryption

Your data security is our top priority. We implement multiple layers of protection:

• End-to-End Encryption: All data transmitted to and from our servers is encrypted using SSL/TLS protocols (256-bit encryption).
• Encrypted Database Storage: All personal information stored in our database is encrypted at rest. Even our own administrators cannot access sensitive data without proper decryption keys.
• Zero-Knowledge Architecture: For highly sensitive data (credit cards, bank accounts), we use a zero-knowledge approach - these are processed by third-party services (Stripe, Plaid) and we have NO access to this information at any time.
• Secure Payment Processing: All payment processing is handled by Stripe, a PCI-DSS Level 1 compliant provider. We never see or store your full credit card number.
• Regular Security Audits: Our systems undergo regular security reviews and penetration testing.
• Limited Access Controls: Only authorized personnel have access to systems, and all access is logged and monitored.

What this means for you: Your credit card numbers, bank account details, and other sensitive financial information are never stored on our servers. We have no way to access this data, even if we wanted to. It is encrypted and managed entirely by certified third-party payment and verification services.
